Video hosting without the platform
Big video platforms are built to keep viewers watching other people's videos. Sometimes you just want a link to your clip: a bug repro for a developer, a product demo for a client, a highlight for a group chat, or a background video for a landing page. Rapidfile Media gives you exactly that — a fast share page with a minimal player, a direct file URL and an embed code.
What viewers see
The share page (media.rapidfile.cc/v/…) opens straight into the Rapidfile player: a poster frame, a big play button, smooth seeking, volume, fullscreen and picture-in-picture where the browser supports it. Social apps and chat tools that support video previews get the right title and poster automatically.
Formats: what to upload
Rapidfile stores and streams your file exactly as uploaded. There is no re-encoding step, which means your video is online as soon as the upload finishes — but it also means the file needs to be web-friendly:
- MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio plays in every modern browser and phone. When in doubt, export this.
- WebM (VP9 or AV1) is smaller at the same quality and plays in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and recent Safari.
- MOV files from iPhones usually contain H.264 or HEVC. H.264 MOVs play widely; HEVC plays in Safari and on Apple devices, and in some other browsers depending on hardware.
Streaming works by HTTP range requests from the CDN, so viewers can start watching and seek immediately without downloading the whole file. For the smoothest start, export MP4 with the "fast start" (moov atom at the front) option — most editors, including HandBrake and ffmpeg with -movflags +faststart, support it.

Sizes and limits
| Plan | Max file | Storage | CDN requests / day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 100 MB | 1 GB | 100,000 |
| Creator | 5 GB | 100 GB | 500,000 |
| Studio | 20 GB | 500 GB | 2,000,000 |
A minute of 1080p H.264 at a typical web bitrate is roughly 40–75 MB, so the free plan comfortably fits short clips, screen recordings and social-length videos. Longer videos fit on paid plans.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a length limit?
No length limit — only a file size limit (100 MB on Free, up to 20 GB on paid plans).
Do you re-encode or compress my video?
No. Your file is streamed exactly as uploaded, so quality is never reduced. Export MP4 (H.264/AAC) for the widest compatibility.
Can I embed the video on my website?
Yes. Copy the iframe code for the Rapidfile player, or use the direct link in your own HTML5 video tag. See how to embed a video.
Will my video show up in search or a public feed?
There is no public feed or on-site search. Only people with the link can find it.
Are there ads in the player?
There are no ads inside the player. Free share pages show ads around the player; paid plans remove them.
